What is a Fragtard?

A Fragtard is actually a play on words that many gamers should be familiar with once explained. Fragtard is simply clever usage of the not so complimentary term of Fu–Tard (I’ll let you fill in the blanks).

…we simply replaced the curse with Frag which means “to kill”.

Of course Tard isn’t the most complimentary term either but it’s important nonetheless; it reminds us that these are games after all and not meant to be taken too seriously. It’s a game for crying out loud and pales in comparison to raising a child, curing cancer, splitting the atom or putting a man on the moon.

Many of us have been online playing games for 10+ years and tend to play more in the interests of squad and objectives rather than pwnz0ring n00bz. Sure we mess around and call each other every name in the book, but that’s just for flavor, deep down we actually care about one another (try and find that in another gaming community, it’s bl00dy illusive).

The domain name Fragtard.net was created on April 18, 2009 and after a short time online, fell into disrepair and was forgotten. A serious attempt at creating a viable gaming community did not occur until December 17, 2011.
